		Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre 55 Piersoll Rd Old Bridge, NJ 08857 Phone: 732.255.4071 Fax: 732.255.4079 E-mail: www.alboradadance.org Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre, the Premier Spanish Dance Company in New Jersey, has been in existence for 25 years. It was originally founded in New York by Eva Lucena, its current Executive Director and under the name “THE SPANISH DANCE THEATER”, toured the Eastern Seaboard for 10 years, including Symphony Space and Carnegie Hall in New York. It re-incorporated in New Jersey in 1995 and since then has enjoyed almost 9 years of bringing Spanish Dance to the community. Alborada embraces ALL forms of dance from Spain, be it Flamenco, Regional, or Classical, and also performs dance dramas such as “El Amor Brujo” and “Tribute to Garcia Lorca”. Every year, in its grant program, it gives the public a cross-cultural program embracing many dance forms and music from other countries which came under Spanish rule or who are closely related in their history e.g. this year’s “Celtic Connection”, depicting the influence of the Celtic migration to Northern Spain and Ireland. Alborada gives approximately 25 educational school performances every year, imbibing in the student a sense of heritage and teaching them about the many cultural aspects found in Spanish dance and music. It also performs privately for corporate functions, and is found at many summer festivals with its junior company. Return to Directory
