The company’s concert performances showcase the dynamic skill, exuberance and energy of New Jersey Tap ensemble’s extraordinary tap dancers. NJTAP has performed in area venues including the Duke Theater, Lincoln Center, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Tilles Center, Ocean County community College, Ramapo County Community College’s Berrie Center and the Montclair Museum. The company’s mission is to preserve and perpetuate the American art form of rhythm tap through public performances, new works, special programs, artist development and arts education. In addition to the First Company, NJTAP has a youth company of 28 children, ages 7 –14, who exhibit an extraordinary talent for rhythm tap and are mentored and trained by the Artistic Director. Dancers in the Youth Company perform at schools and in public performances for young people. All of the dancers in both companies are diverse ethnically and geographically (primarily New Jersey-based). Return to Directory
